It’s hard to believe that the holidays are here! Amongst all the fun and hustle of the season, it can be easy to forget that the holidays aren’t festive for everyone. There are many industries that have struggled this year and there are many people that are scraping just to make ends meet, let alone provide gifts and excitement for their families.
The good news, we can all help these individuals by providing the basics for a wonderful, joy-filled holiday! Here’s how you can get involved:
Defenders of Children
This Phoenix-based nonprofit is devoted to making a difference in the lives of children and their families who have experienced trauma, neglect, and/or physical and/or sexual violence, and who have no resources, financial or otherwise, to seek justice. DofC seeks to end the stigma and heal survivors who come to them as broken, lifeless, and hopeless, and leave them with strength, faith in the family court and criminal justice systems, and a real shot in life.
This holiday season, Engel & Völkers is partnering with Defenders of Children to fundraise for this very worthy organization. St. Vincent de Paul
SVdP of Phoenix’s mission is to feed, clothe, house, and heal the needy in our community. They achieve this through a variety of programs and at the holidays, they have entire families that need “adoption” for Christmas. Sign up to be Santa to a family in need and help bring some Christmas magic this year.
Operation Santa Clause
OSC supports several local charities each year and in 2021 they will be contributing donated gifts to St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance, Special Olympics Arizona, Southwest Autism Research and Resource Center (SARRC), Military Assistance Mission (MAM), and Chicanos Por La Causa (CPLC). Donate a new, unwrapped gift to any Sanderson dealership, a UPS Store, or at an event. You can also make a monetary donation online!
Phoenix Rescue Mission
Join the fight against homelessness and hunger in Phoenix with the Phoenix Rescue Mission. Donations made to the Fed Up! campaign will support the thousands of families served each month by Phoenix Rescue Mission’s various programs, including its Hope for Hunger Food Bank, Mobile Food Pantries, Hope Coach Street Outreach services, and others designed to end the cycle of poverty.
