For the Bruske Team, supporting our community is a core value of our team. Of couse we love assisting our clients find their dream home or investment property, but caring for the people and businesses that make our neighborhood great is a vital task for us as well.
One of the biggest causes for us is the Children’s Cancer Network. Our own Gretchen Baumgardner is a board member for CCN, and the organization is near and dear to the entire Baumgardner family. Gretchen is once again lending her fundraising skills to co-chair the Pinwheels for Hope event this year. And the entire Bruske Team is right there behind her!
Their Mission
Children’s Cancer Network’s mission is to support families with children fighting cancer. The cost associated with a cancer battle is staggering. Not only is the medical cost enormous, but travel, lodging, and lost wages all add up. One in four families that has a child with cancer will lose up to 40% of their annual household income as a result of treatment related work disruption.
Pinwheels for Hope
Pinwheels for Hope is a month long fundraiser with a goal of providing $45,000 worth of gift cards to families in need of support. Each of the gold pinwheels on display at Biltmore Fashion Park represents the estimated 900 children fighting cancer in Arizona.
CCN works to provide families with a number of services. Everything from gas cards, gift cards, mental health support, and safe family activities. Because of weakened immune systems due to treatment, often the families of patients have activities restricted too. Being able to together to have some fun is such a benefit for the entire family.
